Day 01: Arrive Mumbai
Arrive Mumbai & transfer to Hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at Mumbai.
Day 02: Mumbai
Full day visit of Mumbai.
Visit Kamla Nehru Park, Hanging Gardens situated on the slopes of Malabar Hill offering a panoramic view of Marine Drive, Chowpatty Beach, Prince of Wales Museum, Mani Bhawan, Dhobi Ghat, Gateway of India & drive through the Crawford Market, Marine Drive & Flora Fountain. Overnight at Mumbai.
Day 03: Mumbai - Mahabaleshwar
Drive to Mahabaleshwar (230 km). Check in at hotel. Afternoon visit of Gaolani point & Aurther seat. Overnight at Mahabaleshwar.
Day 04: Mahabaleshwar
Morning visit Lingmala, Chinaman & Dhobi Waterfalls. Afternoon visit Pratapgarh Killa.
Pratapgarh is 900 mts. above sea level. It was built in 1656 AD by Moropant Trimbak Pingale at the command of Shivaji Maharaja to dominate the road system of the empire. Pratapgad holds an ancient statue of Shivaji called Bale killa as well as Mahadev and Hanuman temples and a garden. There is a splendid view of the lush green valley and the forts Raigad and Makarandgad can also be viewed. On the east and the south the hills have steep slopes covered with dense forest in contrast with rocky west and the north. The hills gradually descend to the valleys separating Mahabaleshwar and Kineshwar range on the east and the Konkan valley on the west. Overnight at Mahabaleshwar.
Day 05: Mahabaleshwar
After breakfast full day tour to Pachgani.
Sometimes described as the Switzerland of India or the Kashmir of Maharashtra, Panchgani is about 18 km from Mahabaleshwar on Wai road. Situated at an altitude of 1334 mts, it lies just 38 m below Mahabaleshwar. It is the first hill town one reaches from Mahabaleshwar on the Pune road. It gets name from the five hills around it. The climate of Panchgani is salubrious, cool, exhilarating and comparatively dry. Annual rainfall hardly exceeds 70 inches or 1800 mm. It makes Panchgani almost unrivalled as a sanatorium. It is famous today for its berry farms and orchards.The water of Dhom Dam keeps farms and rice fields irrigated all the year round.
Table land offers the panoramic view of Panchgani itself. It is the largest in Asia, a small plane can land here. It is situated 60 meters high on the eastern side of the town. It protects Panchgani from strong winds, heavy rainfall and makes this hill station enjoyable all year round. It is a favourite playground for school children. Overnight at Mahabaleshwar.
Day 06: Mahabaleshwar - Lonavala
Morning after breakfast drive to Lonavala & check in at hotel.
Lonavala provides a panoramic view of the lush green surroundings of the Sahyadri ranges. The peaceful environment of the town, which provides a great escape from the hustle and bustle of Mumbai city, attract tourists to this place. Travellers can take a walk along the waterfalls, the grassy abundance and hills in and around Lonavala. The mountainous terrain of Lonavala is ideal for trekking and hiking.
Day 07: Lonavala - Mumbai Departure
There are numerous lakes around Lonavala. Tugauli, Lonavala and Bhushi lakes are worth visiting, so is the Walvan Dam. The small hill station of Khandala is just 5 km away. Travellers coming from Mumbai pass through Khandala before reaching Lonavala. Karla and Bhaja Caves, located in the hills at a distance of 11 km from Lonavala, are important places to visit. These rock-cut cave temples dating back to 2nd century BC and are among the oldest and finest examples of Buddhist rock cut temple art in India, belonging to the Hinayana sect of Buddhism. Later drive to Mumbai for onward Journey.
